Useful answers
A clearer view of the system.
Practical answers to common product, deployment and support questions.
Control & placement
What does ±1° positional hold mean?
It describes angular heading accuracy with a GPS fix. The VLN holds a selected orientation, countering spin and rotational drift. It is not a millimetre placement tolerance.
How many memory settings are available?
Two stored orientations support repeatable pickup and placement. The operator can recall a saved heading or command rotation directly.
Do new devices include two controllers?
Yes. Every newly ordered device comes with dual controllers for operator switching. Follow the defined release-and-reconnect procedure; one operator has control at a time.
Does it reduce the need for taglines?
Remote orientation control can remove the tagline task from suitable lift phases and reduce the need for hands-on readjustment at placement. The load-control method forms part of the agreed lift plan.
Battery & working environment
How long does the battery operate?
ERNE’s current supply specification is 10–12 hours, depending on usage, load and environmental conditions.
How long does charging take?
Typical charging is 4–6 hours for the current ERNE supply specification. Confirm the charger and equipment configuration for the ordered unit. Older published revisions quote different times.
What remote range is available?
The supplied VLN 2.0 manual specifies 600 ft, approximately 183 m, with line of sight. Use the applicable equipment instructions and site communication arrangements.
Can VLN help with wind-affected loads?
Active thrusters counter unwanted rotation. The wind-load tool helps assess load area, porosity, wind torque and available control authority. Equipment, crane and approved project limits still apply.
Trials, supply & support
Can we trial the system?
Yes. ERNE offers a one-week site trial. Discuss a suitable planned application, dates, equipment, training and commercial arrangements with the team.
Can we hire or rent to buy?
Yes. Hire, outright purchase and rent-to-buy options are available. ERNE can structure an option around your project.
Are support and parts available locally?
Yes. ERNE provides local Australian support and spare-parts coordination Australia-wide, with training, commissioning, maintenance planning and troubleshooting.
Is ERNE the manufacturer?
Vita Industrial manufactures the VLN. ERNE Lifting supplies and supports the technology in Australia. RocketLever combines offset lifting with VLN load control.
